Christopher Nolan swings for the fences with a space epic that's equal parts hard science and gut-punch family drama. The visuals and Hans Zimmer's organ-driven score are overwhelming on a big screen, and while the third act asks for a leap of faith, the emotional payoff lands. A flawed but ambitious film that has stuck with viewers for a reason.
