Mark Lawrence

Mark Lawrence hails from Ardnacrusha in the county of Clare in the West of Ireland. Before becoming a professional actor, he studied Medicine in University College Cork, qualifying as a Doctor. Mark acted in a number of plays with the U.C.C. Dramatic Society, before moving to Dublin to train at Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting. He was nominated for an ISDA for Best Actor for his performance as 'Lar' in the award-winning play 'Such a Local Row'. Lawrence has appeared in lead and supporting roles with companies in Cork, Limerick, and Dublin, most recently appearing as the lead male role of 'Nigel' in 'Sharon' by Katie Holly at Bewley's Theatre, Dublin. An accomplished writer, Mark's short play 'In a League of his Own' was a finalist in the 2014 British Theatre Challenge, and was published in 2015. He has recently directed the pilot episode of 'The Height Of It', a TV series set in North Dublin. Mark also writes and performs sketch comedy with 'Kings of the Harpies'. Mark is currently rehearsing 'Fallen Angels' by Noel Coward, where he will play the role of 'Willie Bambury'. The play opens in Dee-Light Studios, Dublin in November 2018.Read more
